Kerwin Galleries specializes in the work of artists active in California between the years 1880 and 1950. In addition, the gallery offers work by 19th & 20th Century American and European artists and represents a select group of contemporary artists. Major holdings include paintings by
Frank Myers, John Dominique, and Nancy Martin, watercolors by George Post and etchings by Joseph Eidenberger and the Kasimir family of Austria.Established in 1961 by Richard and Mercedes Kerwin, the gallery is conveniently located five minutes south of the San Francisco International Airport. We invite you to visit us when in the Bay area. Early California Art Exhibit We are pleased to announce our current exhibit: Early California Art 1880-1960 being held at our gallery through May 31. This is our 32th annual exhibit of this genre and includes paintings representing the many art styles practiced by painters active in California during this time period including Hudson River School, Barbizon, Impressionism, Abstractionism, California Style, Tonalism, etc. Highlights include works by Xavier Martinez, Edwin Deakin, Norton Bush, William Keith, William H. Clapp, Carl Sammons, Gottardo Piazzoni, George Post and John A. Dominique. A selection of paintings by other American and European artists is also on display. |
